I once had an experience of being conscious when entering the dream world and when I jumped into the midst of deep sleep, I experienced a wonderful feeling of love. Now my question is this: Since, as it is said that love comes from the heart, do we actually go to sleep each night in the spirit of our heart?” My response: When we go into a deep sleep state of consciousness, our thinking, and imagining mind stops, and with it goes our sense of time and space. What remains is pure Being, pure consciousness resting in its own existence in the spiritual heart. It is the still quality of awareness that feels complete and whole. This silent state of fulfillment is not the usual conception of love, but it can still be considered love because this pure contentment is the source of love. So yes, you could say we go to sleep in the spirit of our heart, if our spiritual heart is understood as that state of fulfillment in silent, pure awareness. Love, Deepak
