Devin Druid Instagram – The most heart-breaking Christmas post I ever hope to have. Just a few hours ago, I had to rush my boy to an emergency vet after he collapsed at my feet. My worst fears were realized and I was told my rescue furever friend of 9 years had passed, and he’s gone to roam the great doggy farm in the sky. Finn was first discovered in an abandoned house in Riverside with 40+ other dogs, back in 2016. The authorities were eventually called because of the smell. Finn clocked in at 22 pounds, had his vertebrate exposed from improper tail docking, and he was emaciated. They were left to starve to death and eat each other and their feces. Sick people treat our loving dogs this way. Thankfully various rescues teamed up to do such lifesaving work for these dogs. @wagsandwalks ended up rescuing my Finn, and nursing him back to health with the help of his amazing foster family. This is when I was introduced to the big head himself, and immediately fell in love. He was so gentle and thoughtful; likely a defense mechanism from his life of abuse. But overcoming that, it because his default and what we unlocked beyond that was an abundance of love, trust and absolute loyalty. From that day on, Finn’s favorite place to be was at my side. I know we will be reunited one day, my friend. Thank you for being MY dog, and my best friend. I am so lucky you chose me and I had so many years of love and joy (and eating) with you. I will love you forever Finn, and I will miss you for all of my life. Rest in peace my sweet man.
