Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, so here’s a unique ‘doll’s eye’ view into one of its most important rooms. A look at the Dolls’ House Library shelves will reveal a time capsule of the literature of the 1920s including around 175 real books handwritten by authors such as A.A. Milne, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Vita Sackville-West. Although it looks like a comfortable room to curl up in with a good book, you might struggle to fit: the Dolls’ House was built to 1:12 scale! King Charles III of the United Kingdom Instagram – Today The Duchess of Edinburgh joined students taking part in a menstrual health workshop at Harris Girls’ Academy in South-East London. The group spoke candidly about the challenges faced by women and girls, covering topics ranging from ‘what is a normal period?’ to how to advocate for their own health issues when speaking to medical professionals.

The workshop was part of Wellbeing of Women’s #JustaPeriod campaign, which aims to increase awareness and education around period problems, and normalise conversations around the topic. Her Royal Highness is Patron of the charity, which supports millions of women through its research and health campaigns.

The session today saw female and male students talking openly to share their personal experiences and challenging some of the misconceptions and taboos around periods. Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich
King Charles III of the United Kingdom Instagram – “I particularly salute all the survivors who are able to get out there; to talk to me, talk to everybody and tell other people about what they’ve been through, because they are going to save lives by getting others to come forward.”

Over the past week, The Queen has visited three support spaces and centres for survivors of domestic abuse. Today, Her Majesty privately met with staff and survivors at @RefugeCharity’s Gaia Centre in South London.

The Gaia Centre opened its doors in 2012, as one of the first services in the UK to offer a single point of access for those experiencing violence and abuse.

The centre provides confidential, non-judgemental support to those living in the borough of Lambeth who are experiencing gender-based violence.
