Malik Yoba Instagram – One of the greatest honors of my life and career was working to embody the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King in the film #BettyandCoretta alongside the incredible , beautiful, kind and immensely talented Oscar winner @im.angelabassett playing Coretta Scott King directed by Yves Simoneau. All my life growing up, MLK was a personal hero I aspired to be like and impact the world and promote peace and love to human kind. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how naive and uninformed I was of the true nature of the human animal. Despite the treachery I’ve experienced personally and witnessed inflicted on others , I’ve never lost that hope for the kindness and goodness inherent in people , I’ve just been educated and learned that it ain’t in everybody. But for those of us that are willing to carry light into the darkest places of ourselves and the world keep shining and don’t stop believing. God still got us and we still got work to do! Happy MLK Day and remember to serve something bigger than yourself!
