Today, its razor-sharp depiction of deception and manipulation remains frighteningly relevant. Without love, pleasure must lead directly to disgust Former lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont compete in a complex game of seduction and revenge. Merteuil incites Valmont to corrupt the innocent Cecile de Volanges before her wedding night, but Valmont has already targeted the untouchable purity of Madame de Tourvel. Nomadical, a new company of international FONACT actors, @fonact_international present their debut production in English in Athens, directed by Jamie Bradley (from last year’s The IT and New God at Teatro 104) @abitlikejamie Bringing decayed decadence to the forefront of the audience’s imagination, this dynamic reimagining of Laclos’ world pushes the boundaries of sexuality and amorality.
