Now look here, I’ve spoken about the AMAZING Young Lives vs Cancer before on here.
My family have a very close relationship to them and so you can imagine how proud I am to be an ambassador and work alongside them.
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY they recently gave me a very important job. The role of a lifetime: Chief Christmas Tree Decorator at Paul’s House. HUGE gig for me.
Paul’s House is a Young Lives vs Cancer Home from Home. They have them up and down the country, so that children and young people with cancer can have their families right next to them when they’re going through treatment.
Cancer treatment is scary, and it can often happen miles away from home. But Paul’s House helps keep families together and gives them a comfortable bed to sleep at night and all those little home comforts like cupboards stocked with snacks and sofas big enough for the whole crew.
And it’s all for free, because of the kindness of Young Lives vs Cancer supporters (and the hard work of Young Lives vs Cancer staff).
As well as getting tangled in Christmas tree lights and getting into arguments about the use of tinsel (I’m in favour), I got to meet some amazing people, like Rosie, who was off to ring the bell to mark the end of her treatment after having a chat with me.
We nearly got stuck in a lift. She made me laugh a lot. She gave me a very special duck (more to come on that another time).
