River Butcher Instagram – July 26 is my 3 year testosterone anniversary. I’m posting today because Sunday is my shot day and i’ll be flying all day on the 26th, and I get to do what I want. So much has happened in my life since taking that small step towards accepting myself as trans, which then opened a beautiful gateway into a continued and ever deepening acceptance and understanding of myself as River, and as a man. It’s been awesome, honestly. There have been many difficult times and experiences, but they have all lead to more growth and understanding, not just of myself but of others. Sometimes I wonder if i’ll ever act again because of the strike but also because, well, this business does not understand trans men at all. But even if I don’t i know i’ll be provided exactly what I need. I’m very grateful to be myself each day a little bit more. I’m doing a rare thing of posting my medication because I am not ashamed (i was shamed by someone before and i won’t be again), and I want to share how powerful this experience has been. Trans people are under attack for existing and we are being scapegoated for the decimation of the planet (which includes humanity on every level).
