Israel didn’t want this war. In fact, Israel was experiencing unprecedented levels of peace with its neighbors prior to October 7th with the Abraham Accords and developments on the Saudi front. But on that horrific day, Hamas shattered that dream of peace and declared war on Israel, destabilizing the entire Middle East in the process. @scooterbraun and @noatishby discuss how Israelis are holding on to that dream of peace and love despite the tragedy they’ve faced.

I expect many emotions in all directions from this testimony…So many friends from all walks of life and opinions have asked me about the soldiers I met. Are they monsters? What do they say? Do they want revenge? I debated whether I should share this. I can tell you from my experience all the soldiers I met… Both active and wounded.. desperately want peace. Most are either 19 year old kids and others are normal people like this man. Unfortunately some of the stories I heard are too graphic to share. What I now know with conviction is that there are no winners for those who fight a war…on either side. War is brutal. And these wounded soldiers I met hope their children never have to experience what those on both sides are experiencing now. So after some debate I decided to post this. This wounded soldier is a New Yorker… a born and raised Knicks fan (you can see the hat in the back). A United States citizen who was in Vegas on Oct 7th at a tech conference when he got the news. He had gone off to Israel years ago and now was a reservist not a professional soldier who had just married an Israeli. He had just taken his honeymoon and now he was off to war. He was shot by a Hamas member who was inside a school shooting at them. I’m not here to give my opinion on this story. I will let you listen. What I can tell you is I have always felt and still feel there is no place for Hamas, a terrorist organization that kills its own people and steals aid, in a chance at peace. Both the Israeli and Palestinian people are suffering with their hateful ways. I pray for peace. I pray for the end of this war. I pray for every child stuck in Gaza in this madness and every hostage from Israel still being held. Bring them home. End this war. Free Palestine from Hamas and bring about a peaceful two state solution for all the people of the region. And to make it clear on my stance I also look forward to an election in Israel for a change of leadership as I and 80 percent of that country are not in approval of the current government. That is democracy. I expect many emotions in all directions from this testimony…
Long.. neck… ice cold beer never broke my heart 😉 love you @davidappleton @shelleyhennig . Happy birthday Shelley:)

There are very few people you will meet in your life as special as my brother @mishpachah83 . And yes as we always have to point out that is my real “little” brother lol. With his life story, his journey, his fights, his successes, his love for his family. This guy is incredible. And even though he is my little big brother he is also someone I admire and look up to in all ways 🙂 He chose to be a Jew. With all the hate in the world towards Jews and he chose it? Solid timing Sam lol 😂. All jokes aside he was 20 years old when he decided that he wanted to do orthodox conversion. The snip part too 😮. Yeah. Shit. Commitment. He didn’t tell anyone he just did it. That’s classic Sam. He unapologetically is who he is. He fights for what is right and he is fearless in the incredibly quiet and humble way which frankly.. I am not 😂. When I said I was going to Israel he said “I’m in.” Sam never had a true bar mitzvah at 13. At that time he was just coming to the United States from Mozambique in one of the wild stories of abuse and abandonment you will hear. But he made a life. An extraordinary one at that. And yes he hit the jackpot with @murphystokes 😊. He is an amazing friend and father and husband and brother and son. And now while we were in Israel we surprised him at the @western.wall and gave him the Bar Mitzvah he always deserved. To see the emotion come over him at the wall was powerful. He is powerful. And I love my brother very much. Thank you Sam for being exactly who you are and thank you for being my brother and my friend. People always used to say how wonderful it was that you and @cornelioguibunda were adopted. Truth is we are the lucky ones to have you both as family. Mazel tov on your Bar Mitzvah. I love you and here is to many more adventures ahead. Your Big Bro -Scott
