Simon Baker Instagram – TODAY is an important day for all Australians. There’s been a lot of noise, a lot of political skullduggery, a lot of anxiety and fear. I’ve always been an optimist and deep in my heart I believe this country to be a hopeful place. In recent weeks I’ve been less and less sure of that and have had to manage my own expectations on that. I think the cold and truthful reality is, as a white fella in this country whether I were to vote yes or no , it would have zero direct impact on my life. But I can’t possibly measure the impact a YES vote might have on my First Nations brothers and sister and their children. I had the privilege of spending time with Yolgnu Elder Witiyana Marika , (my Wawa) on a film we made called High Ground. I took this video of him singing an Audience into a screening of our film.
