Stacy Peralta Instagram – One of my goals last year was to foil surf a wave, something I’d never done before and something I wasn’t sure I could even do. Foiling is such a unique and complicated thing to learn and so different than any other board sport I’ve attempted, and in some ways counterintuitive, so there’s a lot of strange trial and error. Put it this way, I’ve never been so wildly bucked off a board like a horse at a rodeo, until I tried foiling. This video is from one of my first sessions, and miraculously over the year, I’m catching on. Though I am still at the beginning stages, I feel I’m at the intersection where uncertainty meets possibility, a place I love being in as it demands the highest quality of my attention and effort. Deliberately putting myself in the beginners space and mindset is where I want to spend a good part of my life. I’ll be talking about ideas like this and more @meawisdom in Baja, California during the week of May 6-11 where I’ve been given the honor and pleasure of once again being a guest teacher.
