In Part 1, (go back and watch Part 1 and read the caption) I spoke about why I’ve never loved the word ‘discipline’ and why I don’t find it particularly inspiring or appealing.
I teach my clients the art of devotion: showing love, loyalty, and enthusiasm for themselves as a way of creating lasting change and deepening their self-love.
This means that every day doesn’t need to look exactly the same, because as a Feminine being with a 28 day cycle, you aren’t meant to be rigid and formulaic about they way you show up for yourself.
Here, I’m speaking to my client who had been feeling stressed and as if she was failing herself because she could not lift weights due to a knee injury.
This is the kind of mental trap of punishment and even self-abuse we set for ourselves when we don’t understand the intricacies and value of our nature as Women.
When we lead from our mind (discipline as a rigid idea) instead of the wisdom of our body (devotion as a Feminine ritual), we will force behaviors that don’t serve us moment to moment, causing more problems.
What we often fail to realize is that we experience things such as injuries and accidents as a manifestation of our need to slow down and be more gentle with ourselves.
I know for a fact that her body had been asking for rest. Her injury gave her no choice but to listen.
I helped her see that through devotion, she can still honor her commitment to caring for her body, it just gets to look different than she imagined. She visibly and audibly relaxed during this coaching, releasing the unnecessary pressure she’d been carrying.
This is your invitation to release the rigid ideas of how you have to show up for yourself through the concept of discipline, and embrace the loving and enthusiastic energy of devotion.
