No matter how much you grow and evolve, there are people in your life that will remain committed to misunderstanding you.
People’s reality is a projection of their consciousness. Some people need to see you in a certain light in order to maintain a hold on their reality. In order to acknowledge that you are not as they see you, their perception of reality would need to shift, which is too uncomfortable for most people to bear.
It’s not personal, even though it feels like it.
The fear of being misunderstood is a deep wound for many because being misunderstood is often associated with being ridiculed, ostracized, punished, or feeling lonely.
So rather than accepting that some people just don’t have the capacity to see you as you are, you go above and beyond to try to prove yourself through over-explaining, people pleasing, or arguing in an attempt to change their mind.
This is a waste of your precious energy and time and you know it, you just don’t know what else to do.
So what *can* you do instead? It’s simple:
✨Let them misunderstand you.✨
Let them.
Let them think whatever they want about you, because you know who you are and what you have to offer the world.
Let them miss out on experiencing your radiance and magic.
If you have a hard time with this, then you have energy leaks in your sense of self that need to be addressed. Inner child work is a great tool to address these leaks.
When you know who you are, nothing that anyone can say will shake you.
Not everyone is going to get you, because not everyone deserves you. Save your energy for the people who see you and love you as you are, and let everyone else think whatever they want.
Because again, it’s not personal.
