Founded in 1946, the traditional samba school has 14 titles as champion in the special group parades in Rio de Janeiro. In 2016, Beija-Flor told the story of a distinguished man from Minas Gerais, born in 1793, who gives his name to the famous Samba Avenue: Cândido José de Araújo Viana, the Marquis of Sapucaí! My costume today is inspired by the richness of the nobility of that time and the magnificent baroque art, also celebrating the culture and history of the state of Minas Gerais.
