After a 2 month hiatus, slowly starting the momentum of being active again. I lost all motivation and momentum but instead of fighting it, I just allowed whatever I needed to feel seep in. Instinctively I knew it to be related w something internally, and my body and mind was fighting to slow down and focus on the home front.
As women, I feel we’re brainwashed into “doing it all, and having it all”. It’s achievable, but at what expense?
If I didn’t manage the burn out, the effects can linger for a long time and it sure will be devastating. I have to admit, I’d gone through a lot this year and fought for what’s important. After the dust settled, I had wounds that needed attending and went into complete shut down especially when I no longer have to be on survival mode. So I pampered myself whilst digesting those big emotions. It’s only human to pace yourself and check in on what you need. We’re in it for the long run aren’t we? So pacing myself and expecting the minimum from myself was crucial to rebuild the towers that tumbled. But I can’t be indulging forever, it’s time to go back to embracing structure 😭 At the core of it all, too much freedom is no freedom at all. As fun as it had been just letting loose, I have to reign in and steer back into reality.
You know yourself better than anyone, so do you, take care of yourself, be gentle to your body, heart and mind and do it unapologetically 😋🫶
