The whole world is watching the atrocities of the Iranian government towards its own people. I stand in admiration and awe for the courage and strength of everyone fighting in this revolution.
For those wondering: Cutting your hair has strong roots in Persian culture and is a part of the mourning ceremony Shahnameh. In the story Farangis cuts off her hair to mourn the dead hero and all the women around her do the same thing. Cutting one’s hair is an act of mourning but also an act filled with protest and fury.
