Hope you’re writing, listening and wandering free.. January is a doozie for me, in terms of loss, and love, and change. If I’m a little quiet, it’s likely due to this time of recent remembrance. Most of my brain / heart goes towards processing how to hold it, and how to move through it. I’ll write about it one day. Of course. But it’s quite a silent “..Okay, what just happened.. really? Oh. it’s real?.. Oh..” kind of feeling mostly still. I’ll be playing his favourite tunes today and maybe even try to learn one. It feels like a very real way to connect still, through the music we both loved. We had the same taste (or I just copied his..) and I’m so astounded I got him to contribute to the last record, on his old recorder. It moves me beyond captions, that we finally collaborated, family band style on a song about blissing out in the hills of home, another shared deep well of resonance.
