Ella says: Thrilled to be wearing my ‘Wild to be Sharing This Moment’ Emily Barker tee today, which I proudly picked up at her show @forummelbourne last weekend. This song & artist inspire me! The chorus is printed on the back: “Isn’t it wild to be sharing this moment? The same very thimble of time. Isn’t it wild that we each hold an ocean, yet fail to fathom other tides..” I feel that’s SO appropriate for this day about supporting each other & being interconnected through this wonderful passion (& career!) of music. Also realising that when some of us are up, others are down & vice versa. Ella Hooper Instagram – My Dad, Jeremy Neil Hooper. Man of letters, music and bushwalking. All passions I carry in me. I don’t do as much bushwalking as I would like to, but I’ve made a life out of the other two. Very much because of him and his reverence for it. Love ya Dad. Hope you’re writing, listening and wandering free.. January is a doozie for me, in terms of loss, and love, and change. If I’m a little quiet, it’s likely due to this time of recent remembrance. Most of my brain / heart goes towards processing how to hold it, and how to move through it. I’ll write about it one day. Of course. But it’s quite a silent “..Okay, what just happened.. really? Oh. it’s real?.. Oh..” kind of feeling mostly still. I’ll be playing his favourite tunes today and maybe even try to learn one. It feels like a very real way to connect still, through the music we both loved. We had the same taste (or I just copied his..) and I’m so astounded I got him to contribute to the last record, on his old recorder. It moves me beyond captions, that we finally collaborated, family band style on a song about blissing out in the hills of home, another shared deep well of resonance.
