We’re gonna do something a little different. I want to tell the 22 year old girl in this picture that despite the daily comments from her touring manager- she does not need to lose weight, and she IS beautiful. I want to tell her that 13 months is too long to do any contract with 9 shows a week and missing a show is okay. I want to tell her she does not need to perform with walking pneumonia and when asked “can you just take steroids” the answer doesn’t have to be yes. I want to tell her when she gets put in the basement every city next to the drums and has to walk up several flights of stairs after singing the hardest song in theater it will make her stronger, not resentful. I want to tell her that despite the audacity of peoples words at the stage door, she is supposed to be here, and she is good inside. Happy anniversary, maybe we can all work on these things in the next 20 years. 🖤
