Julie Ann Emery Instagram – Game Day Turkey Chili!!!
Some folks from Twitter have been asking for this recipe. Since I’m not on the bird app anymore, thought I would post it here.
(I don’t consider myself much of a cook. More of a baker. If I can make this ANYBODY can!)
Ground Turkey (2 packages)
Diced Tomatoes
Kidney Beans
Leeks
Minced Garlic
Salt
Pepper
Trader Joe’s Veggie Broth (my fave broth)
(Spices as you like. Mine are below)
Chili Powder
Smoked Paprika (I use lots)
Cayenne
Cumin Seed
Cinnamon (a bit)

Brown the Turkey meat with sautéed leeks & garlic. Purée the Beans (cause @kevinearleyoffical will NOT touch a bean but this way you still get the kidney bean flavor and it thickens things nicely)
Once meat is browned: Add puréed beans and all spices. Stir.
Add Diced Tomatoes. Stir.
Add a box and a half or more of Broth.
Bring to hard boil for a few minutes.
Simmer for at LEAST half an hour. I like to put it on before the game and low simmer for 90 minutes or so. So it cooks down and gets thicker. Can always add more broth later if needed.
Eat at HALF TIME!
