Kristen Ashley Instagram – As I was reading everyone’s Ins and Outs and watching their 2023 videos (etc.), one of the Insta Influencers I follow (Musings of a Curvy Lady, go follow her, I LOVE HER!) had JOMO as one of her 2024 “Ins” and FOMO as one of her “Outs.” I’d never heard JOMO before, so I looked it up and the dictionary defines it as: “Pleasure derived from living in a quiet or independent way without feeling anxious that one is missing out on exciting or interesting events that may be happening elsewhere.” I love this concept. LOVE IT. I always think, “I should have said yes.” Or, “I should be doing this…or that.” Or, “So and so is always so busy, and their life seems so exciting, and here I am sitting at home watching Nope.”*** The concept of JOMO (or how I’m taking it) is that I’m me. I make the decisions in my life based on how I’m feeling, not what I’m “supposed” to be doing. And the decisions I make within that perimeter are the right ones. Whatever you decide to do to shape yourself as we face a new year, I salute you and wish you the best. I’m gonna be settling in to who I am, the decisions I make and how I live my life. I’m gonna be about JOMO. Bring it on, 2024! I’m ready for you! Rock ON! ***PS: I’ve been meaning to watch Nope since it was released. Finally got to it this holiday break and…SUCH a GREAT MOVIE. If you haven’t seen it and you dig a little scary, a little weird, and a lot of imagination, great storytelling and stupendous acting, watch it!
