Lana Parrilla Instagram – After 17yrs, I decided to finally come back to the Sierra Nevada Mountains to ride with the best horseman in all of España at the @caballos_la_querencia campo 🐴 🇪🇸

I met my dear friend Fernando Reyero in the summer of 2006 when I decided to move to Spain to study Spanish and brush up on my horseback riding skills 3x a week for nearly 5 months. And where better than the Andalucia in España, right!

Granada, Spain became one of my most favorite cities in the world. As someone who’s Spanish speaking skills were poor, you can imagine how intimidating it was to move to a foreign country, not knowing anyone and trying to connect with people who don’t speak your language.
Luckily for me, I met one person who really helped me feel welcomed.

I was immediately embraced by Fernando who’s English is perfect. He’s not only an incredible teacher and horseman, he’s a wonderful writer and a study of multiple languages. So when I arrived, he greeted me in English, Spanish and French and said, “Which do you prefer?” I replied, “English for now.” 🫣

If you’re looking for adventure on horseback in one of the most stunning places in the world, look no further.
Fernando has the most beautiful horses & pups that will melt your heart upon meeting them. He’s created such a wonderful family with these animals and they will all go with you on the journey up the mountain and wait for you while you cool off with a refreshing drink & tapas while overlooking the impressive views of the Sierra Nevadas.
This magical experience will keep you smiling for days!

For the past 17yrs I’ve wanted to live in this part of Spain.
I’ve honestly never been happier. Living with just my basic needs, surrounded by beautiful people, food and culture.
And since this trip, I feel like I’m getting closer to that dream.
Yay! Who knows, maybe we’ll end up riding together one day! 🤞
