Manisha Kelkar Instagram – And my car almost slipped down the valley 😱
6days of continuous offroading on the most toughest roads of Nagaland made me think i am a pro. 7th day we were driving on wider roads . Felt like it was a piece of cake to drive here. So the music went loud, dancing in masti we were enjoying the awesome naga nature & weather.
There i felt a sudden jerk, a slip of my front left tire & in split seconds the left side of my thar was down in the valley. Only supported by the front right tire, my car was hanging.
My co-driver @oceanthakur was scared to death but still brave enough to stay calm & with words of wisdom “stay on the brakes”.
With in seconds i pulled the hand brakes, engine off & right foot smashed on brake.
We knew are were fucked.
Stuck in that position. We called on radio for help. Whole team came for rescue immidiately. Our head mechanic mr.Sushil stood next to my window & asked us to come out quick & on the other side my co- driver warned me not to take my foot off the brake. Decision was bloody difficult. We were literally hanging on to ours lives.
But trusting the leader , i slowly took my foot off the brake. Damn the car stood steady on just two right tires. We both were pulled out of the car safely. Our brave
Sushil bhaiya took the wheels & winching (pulling) my thar by another thar, got it back on the track.
It was brilliant to see how thar stood its ground on just the right two tires. Awesome machine i must say.
What did i learn from this journey?
When in life you face struggles , you are more focussed & you give 100% but when life gets easy & you get a sense of i know it all, you tend to loose focus. So my lesson for life is to enjoy to the fullest but dont you dare loose the focus 😉
