I’ve loved @baby2baby for over a decade. Working alongside this non-profit is truly one of my favorite things to do. 💫 I’m profoundly grateful to their commitment to children and I was so proud to join @stjohn at @Baby2Baby for such an impactful volunteer day. Together we packed newborn and maternal care kits, health and hygiene essentials, and much more. Over the last 12 years, Baby2Baby has distributed over 350 million basic necessities to families living in poverty nationwide, and days like today help make that possible. Big thanks to @stjohn for giving back to Baby2Baby and helping us provide critical items to one million children across the country. #spreadkindness

I don’t profess to understand the history of this region – nuanced and more complex that I could ever comprehend. What I do know is that I have zero tolerance for the atrocities that are happening right now. The murder and abduction of innocent women and children is horrific, heartbreaking and indefensible. I’m praying for all my friends, families and loved ones who are riddled with fear and heartache today. 💔

AND while it’s true that people with lighter skin tones have the highest risk for skin cancer, the incidence of melanoma among Hispanic/Latinos has risen by 20% over the last two decades, and continues to rise. In addition, on average, Hispanic/ Latino people present with thicker tumors and have tumors that are more likely to metastasize (spread) than their white peers. The reasons for these disparities might include being unaware of risks and symptoms, a lack of sun-safe behaviors, access to health insurance and ultimately, delayed diagnosis.
