Woodson High School in Annandale, won the 2023 3M Young Scientist Challenge for developing a Melanoma treatment soap. By combining simple compounds, he was able to create a product that stimulates the activity of dendritic cells which act as protectors of skin cells, he explained. The compound based bar came out to only .50 cents per bar and he hopes to refine his innovation over the next five years to distribute to communities in need who may not be able to afford costly medical treatments.
