2023 was a real shit show for so many people. So much grief, devastation, uncertainty, and division. Sometimes it’s tough to understand where we go from here. But I am endlessly grateful for the support of my friends and family. With them, I celebrated love and friendship; I experienced growth and joy. I officiated my first wedding, passed a career milestone, took my first vacation in 5 years (to Paris), saw some of my favorite musicians with some of my favorite people, and started taking better care of my body.
I also struggled a lot with my anxiety and ADD. I continued to work on my mental health learning more about my ‘triggers’ (hate that word), ADD, and attachment style. I started therapy again (everyone should try it) and I talked openly about it with the people in my life.
So, as everyone posts their year end wrap-ups, try to remember that social media is often a collection of the best moments in someone’s life. Be kind; you may not see their pain, their grief, their struggle.
And if this year was a tough one for you- It’s ok not to be ok. It’s ok to *just* be ok. You are not alone.
Have a safe and happy NYE! 🎉🖤🥂
