Orfeh Instagram – My dear bestie & superstar @ericxwest is literally “forcing my hand” to post this despite my extreme reluctance however I’m actually grateful to him because it’s high time I started speaking about what an OG “influencer” I was in the music business back in the day and just because my single and CD were not global smashes (that’s “viral” for you kids today 😜) does not mean that I wasn’t the template and inspo for many artists that came up after me. AND unlike many “casualties” of the music biz, I never “disappeared,” I’m not a “footnote” & I made a rather successful pivot & and am still (if I may) on the ascent . After over 30 years, my Billboard Hot 100 hit “EVERYOTHERDAY” is finally on streaming services and ITunes. (Thank you @divarobbie)
Little known fact: After @JodyWatley’s and @thegodrakim’s single “Friends” and @JanetJackson’s “Alright” with Heavy D, Or-N-More was only the third pop act to have a sung/rapped song collaboration hit the pop charts, with our collab with @fathermc4real ‼️The remixes were produced by a “newcomer” named @dallasaustins 😜
It became a huge radio hit across the US, even breaking boundaries at R&B/hip-hop stations like the #1 Urban station in America @Hot97 where it reached the Top 5💥
We were the first. Jody, Janet and yours truly, to start a trend that has become the standard today. That’s the truth and that’s the history. Consider me your one stop shop for all “UNSUNG” & “BEHIND THE MUSIC” facts re: OR-N-MORE you never knew 🤪😜❌🎤
