Rebecca Flint Instagram – a quick trip to Florence to see the location of a very famous piece 🔎

I love Zoffany’s Tribuna of the Uffizi… this painting was considered gratuitous and grotesque in its excess, but for me I love the inception and the maximalism. It’s such an iconic and memorable piece, but did you know it’s based on a real collection and a real place?

The octagonal room in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence is the very same location which is captured in this piece! And can you recognise any of those tiny painstakingly painted paintings too?

It was ambitious to not only paint at your own level of skill, but also to emulate the skilled paintings of others, it makes my mind spin 😵‍💫
