We did our first egg retrieval four years ago. After four failed transfers, two more retrievals and two miscarriages we were on the verge of walking out of the baby casino . As we share these beautiful pics (taken by the magic @cynthiaperez7 THANK YOU!) I’m sending all my love to the families that have been through or are in the midst of this journey like us. It’s so hard (understatement) and sometimes feels like you’re cosplaying life under an umbrella of loss. Sending you a knowing hug laced with hope or mourning or whatever it is you need in this moment.
P.S. Let’s pitch on a new name for “miscarriage”. That word makes it seem like we left our fetus in an Uber or dropped it off a balcony. 80% of miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities (destined for failure)- the term is MIStaken and MISleading. | Posted on 10/Jan/2024 00:56:21
