In January I promised myself at least a year of no dating or bonking…(I slipped up once, with a friend I trust. It was medicinal!) Being consciously single, as in growing to regard it as a beautiful state to protect and not a temporary one with a ‘vacancy’ …has given me the joyous space to make incredible new friends and spending meaningful time with old ones. Of course it’s been lonely sometimes but it has also meant really and truly finding out where my boundaries and needs are. I didn’t before, I went headlong into things and ended up hurting people and being hurt on repeat. A painful energy drain. The freedom to indulge myself in friendships the way I did when I was a kid IS A JOY! (This is @prw33 who is an incredible woman I met a few weeks ago and demanded she be my friend. 🥳) #newfriends #femalefriendships
