I called him that because while working with him this year I would come into the trailer and he’d say, “Hey, Queen!” I asked him why he was calling me that, and without skipping a beat he said, “because you’re the queen.” Simple as that. He said it with such pure love, nothing under it, just love and with that beautiful megawatt smile we have all come to know, and I honestly knew he meant it. And it made me feel good you guys- filled and able to take on the world he and I, along with our entire cast, were creating. So, I returned the title “King,” with the hope of sparking a small piece of the joy he would effortlessly give to me. And that is Andre. Generous with his talent, yes, the depths of which are endless and we have all seen chronicled through the years. But, also the offering in abundance of his heart. His time. His ear. His care. His absolute love and high priority for his family. You understood it was that balance that earned him the love and respect we all gave to him. A true JOY to always, always be around.
