Wendy Braun Instagram – 🏂🏂When I was 25 I learned how to snowboard with my best girlfriend. I fell down a lot, caught a lot of edges, cried some tears.
And I kept getting up and trying again.
Just a few years later, without even realizing it, Josh and I would both be at The Sundance Film Festival at the same time, and instead of spending all day watching movies, we each hit the slopes…alone.🏂🏂
Snowboarding became a moving meditation for me. Where all time stops, you’re focused solely on the present moment, and connected deeply with nature.
And here I am over 25 years later, married to this adventurous soul, who is always seeking “the fun,” and I’m so happy to be along for all our “joy rides.”
This year our kids started snowboarding for the first time, and yes, there were tears, and wipeouts, and sore muscles (and yes I have them wear knee pads and wrist guard gloves 😜), and inside of three days, they kept going, kept getting up when they fell down, and ultimately….showed themselves what they’re made of.🏂🏂
I hope as the year it comes to close, you look back on the challenges, and mine the gold out of each one of them. Because you may not be able to see it now, but it’s the falls and the bruises and the fact that you get up again, and #KeepGoingSunshine that shapes who you become.
It’s all part of the journey. Be proud of all of it. 🙌
