Zing Tsjeng Instagram – Wrote about food in Taipei for @suitcase magazine 🍥 Check out the link in my bio for my picks of what to eat in the capital – here’s my personal highlights and some that I couldn’t fit in. Thank you @mrwanderinghead @angelahuii @milo.made.ceramics for all your guidance 💐

📍 Fuzhou Black Pepper Bun, Raohe Night Market – yes everyone knows about it. But it is TRULY sensational, all piping hot from the mobile oven.
📍Yong Chang Traditional Soft Tofu and Almond Milk Shop – soy milk breakfast joints are ten a penny, but truly good almond milk tofu is much harder to find.
📍@taipeieats pork gua bao – I went on their Iconic Eats food tour and I had too good a time to snitch on their picks, but this pork gua bao was heavenly.
📍Wu Jia Beef Noodles (吳家牛肉麵店 on Google Maps) – our cabbie recommended this to us shortly before he pulled out a giant crucifix and tried to convert me. My demonic ass chose to forgive him because the pork noodles and braised appetisers were that good!!
📍Yu Pin Yuan Iced and Hot Tangyuan (御品元冰火湯圓) – ugh gooey warm melting tangyuan on top of syrup sweet shaved ice is the one 💕
📍Another @taipeieats stop – maybe the best peanut mochi I’ve ever eaten, courtesy of the cutest grandma selling them at the side of a wet market.
📍Wenzhou Street Radish Pancake – not a big fan of radish pancake BUT this was possibly the best scallion pancake I had in Taiwan.
📍Chi Chia Chuang – their three flavour chicken is a smoky silky delight (you know it’s good when there’s a random child doing homework in the restaurant). | Posted on 18/Jan/2024 02:09:08
