Atul Kochhar Instagram – How about cooking a delicious Chicken Curry from another region at your home? Sharing one interesting recipe of: Bengali Chicken Curry. Ingredients:

250 gm Chicken
½ tsp Cumin Seeds
1 inch Cinnamon
2 Cardamoms
3-4 Cloves
2-3 Bay leaves
3-4 Garlic Cloves
2 Red Dry Chillies
1 Chopped Onion
½ tbsp Turmeric Powder
Salt (as per taste)
1 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
½ tbsp Ginger Paste
1 Chopped Tomato
¼ Cup Red Lentils (soaked for 30 minutes)
1 Potato (washed, peeled, and cut in half)
½ tsp Cumin Powder
2 Green Chillies
½ tbsp Garam Masala

Instructions:

1. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large thick-bottomed pan/Kadhai on medium-high heat.
2. Add ½ tsp Cumin Seeds, 1 inch Cinnamon, 2 Cardamoms, 3-4 Cloves, 1 Bay leaf, 2 Red Dry Chillies, and sauté well.
3. Add 3-4 Cloves, 1 Chopped Onion, stir-frying until the onion turns golden brown.
4. Add 250 gms chicken, ½ tbsp turmeric powder, Salt, 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, ½ tbsp Ginger Paste, 1 Chopped Tomato, ¼ Cup Red Lentils soaked for 30 minutes, 1 Potato (washed, peeled, and cut in half), and ½ tsp Cumin Powder.
5. Add water as per consistency and cook for 1-2 minutes.
6. Add 2 green chillies and ½ tbsp garam masala, and cook for 3-4 minutes.
7. Cover and cook on low to medium heat until the chicken and the potatoes are cooked through.
