Jim Baird Instagram – We were camped at a spot that had recently been used by local Tahltan for a salmon netting operation. It was late in the morning when our dog North came trotting out of the bush barking and looking back over his shoulder. He remained alert and positioned himself infront of two trails that lead into camp. Moving from one to the other. I figured there was a good chance he saw and smelled a black bear back in the bush. Just to let the bear know we weren’t good people to mess with, I decided to make some noise to scare it off so I fired bear banger.
