Johnny Knoxville Instagram – Flashback Friday to 1992 when I appeared as an Oscar statue and a Cure fan on the Ben Stiller show. I got paid $40 a day as a non-union extra but it was a thrill working in the shadows with legends like @benstiller, @therealbobodenkirk, @juddapatow, and Janeane Garofalo. I was struck by not only their talent but also how nice they were. So down to earth, no pretense. And unlike alot of other shows I had worked on as an extra, they made you feel like you belonged there. And for a 21 year old kid with zero credits, social anxiety and suspect self confidence it made me think that maybe one day I could actually belong there. Or belong somewhere. That meant alot to me then, and even more to me now.
