Meanwhile, the newly-birthed thin crescent Moon arrives — the start of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. A time of daytime fasting.

For the next few days, the Moon in its orbit, will sashay past Venus. The pair, an enduring symbol of the religion.
