Rob Heaps Instagram – Big Sur on Highway 1 this time last year(ish)! The section of the Pacific Coast Highway through Big Sur was closed at that point due to the road having collapsed (slides 9 and 10), so you had to go via the 101 instead. Was desperate to see Big Sur so turned back south at Salinas down the PCH and raced down the west coast, watching the rock and shrub turn rosy-pink as the sun sank lower in the sky and reaching the section of missing road just as the ☀️ dipped below the horizon.
