Will miss the great Carl Weathers who I was very fortunate to work with on several occasions. A very kind and generous person. His performances were always electrifying and he was also a terrific director of both stage and screen.

What a tremendous honor to be receiving from the Paramount Theatre. I’ve had my best movie experiences there. The audience is always incredible, making movies feel like rock concerts. Just outside our doors, you can find the Avenue of Paramount Stars honoring Texas artists who have made incredible contributions to Austin culture through the city’s historic theatres ✨ Austin has played an important role in Rodriguez’s filmmaking journey since his time at @utaustintx, where he wrote his first feature film, EL MARIACHI (1992), which went on to win the Audience Award for Best Dramatic Film at Sundance and became the lowest budget movie ever released by a major studio. In 2000, he and Elizabeth Avellán founded Austin-based production company Troublemaker Studios, which has pushed the technological boundaries of cinema through films like ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL (2019) and has played a major role in making Austin a filmmaking hub. This is very cool! It’s a short sample of my high school Guitar Orchestra video that I’ll share tomorrow. A medley of my different SPYkids music themes that I’ve made available as a curriculum for teachers and students through the non-profit @AustinClassicalGuitar, which has pioneered group guitar education in high schools, middle schools, detention centers and elsewhere, providing instruments and free lessons, as well as bringing the joy of music to Title 1 schools and juvenile justice centers. I’ll share the full 5 minute piece tomorrow. It’ll make you want to learn guitar!
