Vikas Khanna Instagram – Today I went to Mrs. Sabharwal for blessings for BUNGALOW NEW YORK. When I came to the US, I started working in small Indian restaurants & banquets right away. From cleaning homes to running errands to cat sitting to cooking in homes…..I did it all. But technically my first employer was Mrs. Sabharwal. About 24 years ago she gave me $101 while working in her home & blessed me that “one day May you cook for the Presidents.” This stayed with me forever. I never used the money until I had to get admission at Culinary Institute of America at a summer course. I waited for years to use her $101. Since that day, I seek her blessings for every new project I begin. I remember that on Oct 4th, 2011 when I received my first Michelin Star, I visited her next morning for blessing.
