Women are giving birth often by caesarean section during active bombings without electricity or anaesthetic while doctors use head torches and dodge flying glass as windows break under bombardment. Healthcare workers have reported a 300% increase in the rate of miscarriages, and for new mothers, food and water are running out. For newborn babies there are no clothes, blankets, or nappies.
