I urge HRC to reconsider those ties and to call for a ceasefire, divest from companies engaged in apartheid and genocide, and uphold HRC’s own principles of equality and justice. The LGBTQ community’s struggle for justice and equality parallels the Palestinian struggle for liberation. It is our duty as queer people to stand for the humanity of LGBTQ Palestinians, who are being massacred in Israeli airstrikes regardless of gender or sexuality. By standing against oppression, advocating for peace, and recognizing the humanity of all Palestinians, HRC will be standing on the side of oppressed queer people worldwide in the struggle for true equality.
