Anjali Bhimani Instagram – This woman. These women. Last Sunday I was lucky enough to be able to hop on a plane and watch our dear dear huge hearted, wildly talented friend @sarayublue take over the screen at the premiere of Expats in NY. She is breathtaking in this show – just as she is in the picture above of her glowing like the queen she is in front of the Expats billboard in Times Square. (Scroll through for all the magnificence) Getting to spend the evening celebrating her together (along with my beloved @poornagraphy , my sister-in-arms, and @saritachodhury, whose raw talent and charm is only matched by how kind and funny she’s been each time we’ve spent time together) was just about the most wonderful few hours I could’ve imagined, and getting to say congratulations to the rest of the cast and to our old friend (and fellow @vintagetrouble Troublemaker @thumbelulu) on the culmination of her extraordinary vision was the icing on the cake. Sarayu and have been such shining lights to me as friends and as peers, always loving and gracious and hilarious and giving. At a time when I doubted my place in this industry or this community, Sarayu was so passionately loving and supportive, I felt it was as if she was fighting for her own sister. She and Poorna have reminded me in moments of uncertainty to know my worth, and stand tall, no matter what room I’m in, no matter where in the world I am. I will forever have a woman crush on both of them. Sarayu Blue, you are magnificent in this show. Thank you for sharing your heart with the world. I’m so grateful that they finally get to see you break the screen wide open.
