Anníe Mist Þórisdóttir Instagram – Christmas tradition that we do every year ❤️🎄 The making of laufabrauð (Icelandic tradition since the settlers, a little hard to make but don’t feel like it’s Christmas without it) 500g wheat 35g butter 15g sugar 250-260g full milk 1 teaspoon baking powder I add in a pinch of salt Add all dry ingredients together Add butter squeeze in with hands into the mix Luke warm milk that you add in VERY slowly while mixing Roll into a sausage roll about 3 inches (keep in moist tea towel while rolling out each pancake so the dough won’t dry up) cut each roll into 15-20 pieces and roll out thin Decorate as you want to by carving out!!! 🤩 Make sure to puncture small holes into them after you finish so they won’t all bubble up when you cook 🧑‍🍳 Fry in oil when all cakes are ready Enjoy with Christmas meal with dipping into some butter 🫶
