But there were no major policy changes announced!
Why?
Because this budget is the Interim Budget for 2024-25.
An Interim Budget is a temporary budget presented by the Finance Minister before the General Elections.
This Budget covers the Current Government’s Expenses and Revenue proposals until a detailed budget is announced by the newly elected government.
And this year we have General Elections in April & May!
Hence the Interim Budget!
And post the elections, the Annual Budget for 2024-25 will be presented, which is mostly in July.
