Frederique van der Wal Instagram – I absolutely love films and documentaries that have a profound impact on me.
“Common Ground,” the sequel to “Kissing the Ground,” is one of those films that is both intense and incredibly necessary to watch on multiple levels. It not only sheds light on our own health and the health of our planet and its creatures, but also exposes the rigged system we live in.
Though the film is also about hope and how we can change things and what is changing already.
When people come together to experience something as important as this film, something magical happens in the room.
We watched it at Donna Karan’s space, followed by a delicious farm-to-table dinner, and the conversations that ensued were enlightening and brought everyone closer together.
This sense of community and deeper conversations is not always easy to find in New York, so it was truly wonderful to witness a group of people united in their appreciation for the work of Rebecca and Josh Tickell.
I am so grateful to Andrew Saffir and Cinema Society for always organizing these special evenings that bring people together and ( often) leave a lasting impact.
“Common Ground” is definitely a must-see film that I highly recommend.
