My first review in The New York Times, by none other than Patton Oswalt, whose late wife Michelle McNamara penned THE perennial account of the Golden State Killer, I’ll Be Gone in the Dark. Here I am, at Skylight Books in 2018, to hear Patton speak about Michelle, who wrote about victims of violent crimes like human beings, something that was still avant-garde even just a few short years ago.
