Jessie J Instagram – For this week’s #DarkchildThursdays I wanted to highlight “This Christmas Day” by the one and only @jessiej, a project and record that I had the privilege of working on in 2018 and has accumulated over 90 million streams. “This Christmas Day” is the only original song that we created together for this album. When we wrote this song, Jessie was going through some personal struggles. We tried to capture what this would sound like, but ultimately provide a sense of comfort that the listener could grasp onto for Christmas. With the timeless message & melody, I feel like we did just that. During the recording process I also had the opportunity to co-produce the covers of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and “White Christmas.” What song should we wrap up this year of #DarkchildThursdays with?
