Had so much fun at the LA @toolmusic show last night! I think this was my 11th one! Fun fact, Tool has been a huge inspiration in my life from an early age I had also always loved their music because it was so different and complex. I was obsessed with their visuals in high school and looked up to @adamjones_tv’s art and creative direction which ultimately led me into exploring video making. I didn’t have anything to film so I’d make little clay figures in art class and try to film and animate them like their music videos. That didn’t go well, but I discovered Flash and that was so much fun.. that took me into web development and then somewhere along the way I came back to video and have always loved the ability to use it for storytelling.
Back in 2018 after an uncomfortable encounter and feeling pretty low all together.. I wanted to start training martial arts. I had always heard Maynard @iamthebriefcase talk about how incredible Jiu Jitsu was and so I gave that a shot! Even though Covid and injuries have set me back me back many times.. it’s truly something that has changed my life for the better time and time again. He also just got his black belt which is super cool!! 🙏🏻 🥋
I’ve also always wanted to play the drums because of @dannycarey_tool but I’ve run out of time for hobbies 😂
Thanks to my sister @jennaezarik who is a forced fan by proxy. She’s been to at least 5 shows and knows a few words to some songs hahaha. She also used to have to listen to my guitar phase in life trying to learn all the intros to Tool’s songs. Our rooms were right next to each other growing up so you can only imagine what an ear full THAT WAS!!
