My dad died a few months ago, and today would be his 95th birthday. Even though I knew he had less time than more, it still didn’t prepare me for the reality of the loss and the resulting existential crisis. My dad accomplished so much, he was an award-winning molecular biochemist who devoted his life to cancer research, endocrinology, biology, hormones, molecular cellular medicine, chemistry, and pharmacology (there are more, but I can neither spell nor pronounce them). He really wanted to leave a mark on this world, and I believe he did.
