Katie Couric Instagram – Four days after the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, his widow, Yulia Navalnaya released a video statement vowing to continue Navalny’s work to fight for a “free Russia” and lead the fight against President Vladimir Putin.
Navalny’s death in prison was announced on Friday. Authorities at the Siberian penal colony where he was being held said he collapsed following a walk and never regained consciousness. Navalny’s mother was informed that his body was being held for “chemical analysis” and there’s been no confirmation of the whereabouts of the body from Russian authorities.
Today at 11:30 am EST, I’ll be talking to @newyorkermag journalist @susan.glasser about Navalny’s death and the subsequent developments, as well as Trump’s comments about NATO last week that sparked concern among allies. As always, drop your questions and comments below. 👇
